If there is one thing I learned from this year amid the pandemic, it is to buy American made goods. When everything was sold out, it just showed how vulnerable we were. After my wife’s Toms died (Thank goodness because it looked like Forrest Gump ran from Nevada to Kansas in them) I learned about a company that not only places emphasis on the planet, but manufacturers their shoes in sunny California. Read on in our feature of the Ashbury Skies Bendy Shoe Review.

Construction

The Bendy comes is available in a wide array colors. The model reviewed is in Denim. The uppers on the Bendy are made from Italian sourced leathers produced in a ethically responsible tannery. The cushioned footbed is made from slow recovery eco foam. The accordion style outsole provides for optimum flexibility. These shoes are made in California.

Function

Ashbury Skies Bendy shoe really shines as a go to travel shoe. Anytime we’re out, if my wife isn’t wearing them, then she has them in her bag. We were recently on a trip to Philadelphia and had an extensvie walking tour of the historic district. It was a sweltering day and my wife and I had flip flops on. Needless to say within an hour our feet were pummeled. My wife took her Bendy’s out of her bag (They’re very compact for travel) and slipped them on and was intstantly trotting from the Liberty Bell to the Museum of Art while I suffered in silence. Never have I envied women’s shoes so much.

The cushoned foam is very plush and will form to your foot. The result is a very comrotable “rebound” when you walk, almost like little springs are at work. Even riding a bike was no issue. 

Aesthetic 

The denim colorway looks really cute and contrasts nicely with the white outsole. Although we feel you do have to keep them really clean to maintain that fresh look as the slightest mark seems to stand out on the bright colors. The exterior is very soft and these make for a perfect summer or fall aesthetic. Bendy’s come in multiple colorways so finding the perfect pair should be a breeze. We love the carefree looks the Bendy exudes and often find after trying to match shoes to an outfit, the Bendy never seems to be at a loss. 

Conclusion 

Simply put, we love The Ashbury Skies Bendy Shoe. It functions as an excellent travel shoe that exhibits great versatility and all day comfort. The price point is definitely a hurdle. However, the eco friendly-made in America attributes make this shoe a feel good purchase.

Rogue Industries Front Pocket Wallet Review – $55.00

I’m usually a creature of habit. Oatmeal with walnuts and raisins for breakfast, Blue Chuck Taylor All Stars for the gym, and the list could go on. However, when it comes to my Everyday Carry, I’m always looking for ways to refine and hone the things I always have on me.  My wallet usually inhabits my rear pocket, but lately it’s been bothering me especially when driving.  After doing some serious research in the hallowed annals of men’s billfolds, I came across Rogue Industries Front Pocket Wallet – A wallet that goes in your front pocket might sound like hearsay, but read on brethren, and you too might become believers.

Construction

The Rogue Industries Front Pocket Wallet measures in at about 5.75” inches long by 3.4 inches tall and is about a quarter of an inch thick when empty. It weighs in at 1.6 ounces. Rogue Industries offers this model in multiple textiles including Moose leather, Nylon, Waxed Canvas, etc. The model I opted for was Bison Leather. I chose Bison because the leather has a unique grain pattern and is inherently very rugged looking. The large porous nature of the skin also makes this breathable which is a must for me since I loathe pulling out a sweaty billfold. This puppy is made in Maine, USA and carries a 2 year warranty.

Function

First off, this wallet smells great. Before Covid it wasn’t uncommon to see me fidgeting with my wallet while waiting to get my crown repaired at the dentist. Now I do so socially distanced in my home. What makes Rogue Industries Front Pocket Wallet so popular is the signature half taco shape that just slips effortlessly into your front pocket. If you take a pair of your favorite jeans/shorts, hold them up and look at the front pockets from the interior of the pants, you’ll notice the wallet is shaped very similarly to the pocket – which makes it sit naturally.

This is a great feature especially when driving or moving around frequently, front pocket wallets tend to stay more secure and are much less prone to falling out than your back wallet. You could go to put your wallet in your back pocket and miss and never knew it hit the ground, that’s much harder to do when the wallet is in front of you.

Wallet retrieval is very smooth and once out operates like any billfold.  There’s plenty of space for cards, and if you want you can opt for the ID window version as well. Another brilliant feature is RFID blocking to protect your credit/security access cards from thieves. Speaking of which, a front pocket wallet is nearly impossible to pickpocket.

 

Aesthetic 

I really dig the look of this wallet. It’s not another yawn worthy billfold. The Bison leather looks great and really gives this wallet depth and a tangible testament to American craftsmanship. Sometimes a quality wallet gives a great, but subtle impression. Say you pay for your coworkers lunch and pull out this classy wallet, I’m sure they’ll look right at it and notice it’s a quality piece.

 

Conclusion

I’ve always been a back pocket wallet type of guy. However, the design and functionality of The Rogue Industries Front Pocket Wallet is hard to pass up. It’s a more comfortable carry, especially when sitting. The added security of RFID blocking and having your wallet in front of you as opposed to behind just makes sense. The wallet’s fit and finish are great, and the materials seem top notch. I’m kind of taken back at the 2 year warranty but at the $55 price point it’s not a deal breaker.

Triple Aught Design Parallax Messenger Bag Review – $315.00

The backpack vs messenger bag debate has been going on for quite some time. Backpacks usually offer more capacity and utility, whereas messengers are more “grown up” and easier to access. In this installment, we take a look at the Triple Aught Design Parallax Messenger Bag, which I think does a great job at meshing the strong suits of both bag types into one cohesive carry option.

Construction

The Parallax is composed mainly of a proprietary ripstop nylon produced by Dimension-Polyant, a major manufacturer of professional grade sailcloth. You know those boats that are skimming halfway out of the water piloted by dudes with Rolex watches? Yeah, that kind of sailcloth. It’s essentially a combination 200 Denier Nylon with special X-Ply Polyester tafetta backing, a .25 mil PET Film, which is described as “BOPET (Biaxially Oriented Polyethylene Terephthalate) is a polyester film made from orientated polyethylene terephthalate (PET). BOPET is used because of its high tensile strength, chemical and dimensional stability, transparency, reflectivity, gas and aroma barrier properties and electrical insulation.” So, we’re talking about some serious hardware here. The material is inherently water and abrasion resistant.

Measurements come in at 18” (45.72cm) W X 12” (30.48cm) H X 5” (12.7cm) D and the Triple Aught Design Parallax weighs just over 2 lbs empty. TAD spared no expense with the YKK zippers, Fidlock/Duraflex buckles too, the feature list on this pack goes on and on.

Function

Typically messenger style bags fall just out of my usage range, often being too narrow to carry bulkier items. The Parallax Messenger hits that sweet spot of being just big enough without being obtrusive. You can easily fit a water bottle, light sweater, laptop/tablet and bagged lunch in this pack. If you ride a motorcycle you’ll appreciate the underarm supplemental strapping that keeps the bag secure and stows away when not in use.

This bag has tons of pockets and ways to organize your things. It’s definitely fun tweaking it to your needs. The material used for the bag is somewhat loud when handling, vaguely comparable to opening a bag of fiery cheetos. The buckles utilize a magnet to snap into place, then must be slid out – this makes shutting your bag easy but opening it a little more involved, which is what you want – your gear secure.

 

Aesthetic 

Triple Aught Design has a very clean, signature aesthetic. No unnecessary  embellishments or gimmicky style ques. The bag is a purely functional tool, which happens to look great. This could work in a number of situations, allowing you to transition pretty seamlessly from casual to business. All of the quality components down to the stitching just give the bag a classic appeal that still manages to be under the radar.

Triple Aught Design is one of the few apparel and gear companies that keep American manufacturing ahead of the competition. Their designs are iconic and have been replicated, duplicated and sometimes downright ripped off by other brands. The real McCoy stands out. Triple Aught Design’s Parallax Messenger uses cutting edge materials and every facet of design has been meticulously thought out. All of this innovation commands a premium price, so it consider your budget and end uses carefully.

KeySmart CleanKey Brass Hand Tool Review – $24.99

As the Novel Coronavirus continues to infiltrate every aspect of our lives, we’ve come to realize the “New Normal” that surrounds us. Wash your hands, limit contact, wear a mask, etc – It’s can be overwhelming, and we’re seeing a lot of new products to help alleviate the common concerns of limiting chances of contracting Covid 19. One tool in particular is the KeySmart CleanKey Brass Hand Tool – 

Construction

 

The CleanKey is composed of 70% Brass and 30% Zinc this combination of metals produces the alloy Brass. One of the most pertinent properties of brass is that it’s antimicrobial. There are countless scientific studies backing this up, microbes just can’t sustain themselves on brass surfaces, so much so that Laboratory testing has shown that copper and its alloys, brass and bronze, kill more than 99.9 percent of bacteria, such as the superbug Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus, or MRSA, within two hours.

The Cleankey measures about 3.5” long and weighs 1.8 ounces, or about as much as a pack of gum for all you metric folk. It has a large trigger for leverage and knurling along the top for grip. The machining is actually pretty decent and smooth.

 

Function

I just want to get possibly my biggest caveat out of the way, your hands will smell like pennies from handling this. It’s perfectly ok, but that’s just the price you pay for Brass. I’ve been using the KeySmart CleanKey almost non stop for a month now. I’m out and about quite a bit for my secular job, and this has been great for opening doors and punching buttons at gas stations. 

With a little finesse you can even get some turn knob doors to open. I find the stylus capabilities a little lacking. It sometimes takes a few tries for a touch screen to register a punch, but it does work. The included retractable carabiner makes it so accessible it becomes second nature using the CleanKey.

Aesthetic 

The CleanKey is actually pretty good looking. It’s simplistic design and solid brass construction really leave no kinks in the looks department. It doesn’t seem out of place and looks pretty slick hanging from your belt loops. I think it fits in with my EDC quite well. They say form follows function, but here we’re rarely treated to both in equal measures.

 

Conclusion

I am very pleased with the Keysmart CleanKey. It’s small footprint and ease of use really makes it a formidable weapon in the war on cooties. At just $24.99 I think it’s more than a bargain, considering it will last you for years. The natural properties of brass means this tool will also never lose its antimicrobial properties. They’ve been selling like hot cakes, so if you want one, I’d suggest visiting the site often.

Trayvax Summit Wallet & Trek Field Knife Review – $34.99 & 169.99

I’ve been following Trayvax since the beginning when they offered just one extraordinary wallet. Since then they’ve grown and expanded their product line with tons of other cool gear. I wanted to spotlight on one of their original designs as well as one of their totally new offerings. We’re big on EDC here at Bestleather so taking a look at a couple core components was a rare treat. Read on for the full scoop!

Construction

The Summit Wallet is one of Trayvax marquee products. A no nonsense card and cash carry device in a radical design.  Constructed of solid steel with a mil-spec nylon strap, the Summit is a simple, durable wallet. The wallet is also treated with a melonite finish which hardens the metal without adding another layer to it.

The Trek Field Knife is a skeletonized frame composed of CPM S35VN Stainless Steel – This steel has a respectable 58-61 on the Rockwell Hardness Scale. CPM S35VN Stainless Steel also has superior edge retention and corrosion resistance. Blade length is 3.5”

Function

The Summit is a minimalist wallet in function. The updated version now offers RFID blocking, a seeming must have feature in today’s technologically advancing society. You can fit about 5 or so cards comfortably and about 6 or so cash bills. If like me, you don’t handle cash that much, this isn’t an issue. However if you’re constantly in and out for cash, I’d consider it a little more closely. It works great as a front pocket carry.

The Trek Field Knife is definitely a unique knife and follows Trayvax’s signature line of innovative designs. It’s an ambidextrous design that allows several retrieval options from the supplied holster.

I’m a big fan of the steel used, but not a fan of the handle. I’m thinking of wrapping it with paracord to give it better grip and ergonomics. The slim profile is definitely unobtrusive and really blends in with your everyday attire. This knife can cut rope as well as it can peel an apple.

Aesthetic 

The great thing about Trayvax, is that their designs are almost instantly recognizable.  Even a knife and a wallet, two very unrelated objects and you can tell their kin. The skeletal structures are very industrial but polished as well. They’re so different from the norm, I find myself just fidgeting with my wallet sometimes – appreciating all that metalloid goodness.

Conclusion

Trayvax is a great American company. Their innovative products have spawned a legion of copycats. The design isn’t for everyone, but you can’t deny the unique angle of both the Trayvax Summit Wallet and Trek Field Knife.

Goruck GR1 Backpack Rucksack Review – $265.00

We love leather, it’s our go to, time tested, mother approved textile of choice when it comes to bags, boots and bondage. However, there are times when we definitely concede that it’s not the best choice in a given situation. For backpacks, I honestly prefer synthetics. The weight, flexibility and convenience are hard to pass up when you’re on the go. I’ve had all the major bags from Tom Bihn down to Jansport and the one I found best for me, was the GR1 Backpack. Let me explain the pros and cons of this puppy in this Goruck GR1 Review. 

Construction

The Goruck GR1 is made from 1000D Cordura. For reference, the JanSport backpack you had in 5th grade with the leather bottom is about 400 to 600 denier nylon. The pack features double and sometimes triple stitching in all the critical stress areas, and it’s so durable that I would dare say that it’s almost abrasive at times. The duffle version of this bag would actually wear the fabric off some of my more delicate t-shirts when wearing it, so something to think about. Zippers are heavy duty YKK with paracord pulls. 

Goruck strangely offers this bag in a Made in the USA version for $295 and an imported model for $265 – This is almost a no brainer, spend the extra $30 and go American. If it was like $50 + dollars it might warrant more consideration. 

Function

I recently challenged myself on a 5 day trip to California. I absolutely hate being bogged down with luggage when traveling, so I decided to try to keep it all to one bag. This bag is definitely on the smaller side, so this meant foroging a lot of creature comforts. But with careful use of compression packing cubes  and some high quality merino shirts/underwear I was able to cover all my bases. 

On a day to day basis the bag is great, the front slotted pocket is good for slim tablets/books. The absence of a water bottle pocket is felt, and while you can always add a MOLLE bottle holder, it hurts the look and agile nature of the bag. I was able to get my lunch, Nalgene and a spare shirt in it on most days. But the bag was definitely packed. If you carry a little more,  I would opt for the larger version. 

The pads are thick and comfortable, but the bag doesn’t breathe too well on your back.  The handle up top is infallible. The padded laptop sleeve in the back has a hard shell and is nice and thick.

Aesthetic 

I personally think this is one of the best looking backpacks around, It’s rugged yet sleek and does not have that overly tactical feel. While that streamlined aesthetic comes at a cost of storage utility, I still find myself  willing to put up with a few drawbacks. I love the velcro for patches as it makes the bag quickly identifiable and it’s always fun to swap them around.

 

Conclusion 

The Goruck GR1 backpack is definitely something you need to weigh out before purchase. If this bag’s functionality works for you, and you know you’ll be using it often then it’s almost a no-brainer. It will last for years and the initial cost investment will be offset by length in service.   Legendary durability aside, it’s definitely one of the cleanest, aesthetically sound bags I’ve reviewed. This is my go-to bag. And though it does have some hiccups in terms of convenience, those issues can be addressed with aftermarket attachments easily.

How To Clean and Condition Leather Featuring Chamberlain Leather Milk

Making your first big leather purchase can be a fun and taxing experience. Most quality leather goods command a premium price and definitely live up to the, “Buy the best only cry once” mantra. We get asked a lot about what we do for our leather goods, and people are usually surprised when we say very little. One of the great things about premium leather is that it doesn’t really require much. Personally, I condition a few times a year depending on use. We’ve sampled dozens of conditioners, and we’ve come to prefer Chamberlain’s Leather Milk. 

High quality leather is usually treated with a tanning process. This treats the leather against premature aging and somewhat seals the leather from outside exposure, almost like wood is treated with stain. Over time the leather can lose some of those oils due to wear and exposure. That’s where a quality leather conditioner comes in. Treating leather is a pretty simple procedure. 

First take a soft brush or cloth rag and brush off any large debris like caked on dirt or dust. Then you take your applicator pad (Included with a bottle of Leather Milk) and squirt a very tiny dollop onto the pad (We recommend spot testing in a hard to see area just to make sure you like what you see) then work into the leather in a circular motion ala Karate Kid. A thin layer is all you need. 

You can see how the leather darkens a little after application, this is normal – The belt is a Sandlot Goods Horween Leather.

You’ll see great results right away but don’t think more is better, you will just end up making the leather greasy. Wipe any excess off with a clean rag. Wait about 10 minutes for the conditioner to seep into the leather and buff out the surface with a dry cloth. Voila!

Notice how the fine lines in the bottom picture are slightly diminished after treatment. The character and patina remain, but the leather is moisturized.

Chamberlain’s Leather Milk is all natural and made in the USA – so we’re proud to offer it. It will go a long ways in rejuvenating your leather and making it supple and smooth. Heck, I even put some under my eyes at night to remove the black spots- Just kidding! In all seriousness, I do my Redwing Iron Rangers boots twice a year and they look great. Usually right before Fall hits and once again when winter is over, just to keep the leather healthy while stored away. Same goes for bags, wallets and belts. If the leather ever feels stiff or brittle, just give the leather a little CPR with Chamberlains!

Col. Littleton No. 120 Leather Valet Tray Review – $190.00

I’ll always remember my dad coming home from work as a kid. I’d hear the sputter of his pick up, the clank of him slamming the door. He’d always come in and empty his pockets on the entryway table. His keys, wallet, loose change and a few mysterious nuts and bolts would be haphazardly thrown on the table. Day after day, year after year – the table had a veritable crater from the constant barrage. Fast forward twenty something years and I found myself replicating the carnage on my nightstand. It was at this point I decided to delve into the wonderful and mysterious world of Valets, or Catch-Alls for the uninitiated. Little did I know I would stumble on the granddaddy of them all, Colonel Littleton’s No. 120 Leather Valet.

Colonel Littleton considers every aspect of their products, down to the handsome shipping box.

Construction 

The leather quality is superb, the oils used in the tanning process give the valet a soft glow.

Most valets are composed of leather and thread for stitching. And like any Colonel worth his salt, Littleon’s No. 120 Valet has his own secret recipe of 11 herbs and spices…well, 3 in this case. The meat of the valet is composed of Italian Bridle Leather that has undergone vegetable tanning. This thick full grain leather is really what you want in a valet, prized in equestrian circles for its tough, resilient properties – Bridle leather will stand up to the constant contact with your keys/wallet/etc. The valet is crafted in Littleton’s own shop in Lynnville, Tennessee.

We see one large leather panel composing the body of the valet, which is joined at the corners with solid brass rivets. American Cherry wood forms a reinforced rim around the valet, adding structural integrity to the piece.  The edges of the leather are burnished over as well. Dimensions for the valet are reported at 10.75″ W x 8.5” H x 2.5″ D

  Function 

It’s hard to critique the function of a valet, as it’s pretty simple in nature. The size hits that sweet spot of getting all of your essentials in without taking up too much counter top real estate. 

If I could add anything to the functionality of the piece it would be a plastic insert with a 3 section divider for keeping my phone away from my coins/keys. Handles on the sides would be pretty cool for converting the No. 120 into a swank serving tray. Because I know I’m not the only one who wouldn’t mind being served buttered biscuits out of this puppy!

Aesthetic 

There isn’t an angle on this puppy that looks bad. Flip it over and you have a footstool fit for a king.

Colonel Littleton’s designs all just look oh so good. This valet is no exception. It has the ruggedness of John Wayne with the class of Paul Newman. A hot shot banker could throw his Porsche keys into this caddy just as easily as the foreman on a road crew. 

Col Littleton also offers the option of initialing the brass plate with up to 3 letters. I chose “EDC” – short for Every Day Carry, as I’ve always been a gearhead and love having a safe depository for all of my pocket contents.

The stitching is clean and tight, the leather smooth. This is one where I just let the pictures do the talking.

Conclusion 

You don’t just get a Valet when you order, oh no. A leather coaster arrived, as well as some pamphlets and a delicious Moon Pie treat!

I like to buy American whenever I can. Companies like American Giant, Triple Aught Design and Redwing have all earned spots in my daily arsenal. Colonel Littelton has definitely earned a spot as well. The price is pretty steep, there are a lot of quality valets out there for a third of the price – but for an item that will likely last decades, I think putting an empty wallet in Col. Littleton’s No. 120 Leather Vallet Tray for a little while is a moot point. The build quality, finish and craftsmanship are all on point. The use of choice materials really produces a product that personifies an almost lost era of American quality.

Buffalo Jackson Denver Leather Belted Briefcase Review – $374.95

We’re big fans of Buffalo Jackson here at BestLeather. I’ve personally been keeping an eye on them since early 2014 when I got my first pair of Yukon 500 Mile Shorts. They’ve really expanded their leather collection and I’m always running across great products. Today I’m taking a look at their Denver Leather Belted Briefcase.

Construction

The Denver Brief is made from full grain cow leather. The model we’re looking at is called Autumn Brown and Dark Briar, hower it is offered in a few other finishes. Nylon thread is used for stitching the panels and we also see antique brass finished rivets located at high stress areas. The interior utilizes a more forgiving suede. The top flap uses leather straps and a heel bar buckle. This bag measures 15.5″ L x 11″ H x 7″ W and weighs 6 pounds. They are handmade in Mexico. Function

This bag in my opinion works best when you usually don’t need much else besides the essentials. If you’re in an office and drive a car to work, this bag works. I say that because when you’re in an office and drive you can keep your daily support items in those places (i.e lunch in office fridge or coat in car) and retrieve when needed. This bag will hold a 15” Laptop, a few books, thin sweater no problem. The buckles offer a very solid closure to the bag and they’re adjustable so you can really fine tune how much play you want.

This bag has a open slot on the back, good for quick access to papers or tablets. The interior features 2 compartments separated by a leather divider with a crude organizer. I would really to like to have seen a zippered pocket for small loose items like USB drives or cords though. I do appreciate the leather key clip holder and the smart laptop snap that keeps it secured. The large, padded shoulder strap really makes carrying heavier loads comfortable.

Aesthetic

One of my favorite things about Buffalo Jackson’s dry goods in general is that I feel like I’m taking a little bit of the outdoors wherever I go. I could be shoulder deep in New York city, but I feel like I’m hiding the Tetons in my bag. The rich, earthy tones really set off an adventurous vibe. Visually, there’s really not much I would add or subtract. It may be too rough-hewn for a suit and tie occupation but for a student, contractor, or blue collar professional it’s a great balance between style and function. 

Conclusion

With all the pedigrees of a solid bag, Buffalo Jackson’s Denver Leather Belted Briefcase has style and durability. There is a compromise in functionality with the buckles and limited organizer, but those tradeoffs ensure a bag that will last. The price point puts it in a playing field with a lot of other great bags but few in my opinion capture that rustic allure that this bag offers.

Ultimate Sack Ultimate Lounger Bag Chair Review – $294

Ah, the ol’ bean bag chair. Fond childhood memories arise as I think about swan diving from the top of the steps onto the dilapidated spleen made of polyvinyl chloride. Or even using it as an impromptu safety mat when emulating signature wrestling moves on my brother. As many uses as us kids had for the bean bag though, I can’t remember sitting in them as one of them. They were flat, soggy and spewed Styrofoam beans the minute your keister made contact. I was at WalMart last year and bought one for old times sake, and sure enough a week later it was useless.  It was in this moment of deepest despair I chanced upon the world of high end bag chairs…I speak of the Ultimate Sack.

Now you’re typical bean bag chair you bought at Moe’s Furniture and Plumbing Supply cost about $35 bucks, weighed 7 pounds and lasted 65 hours. Enter Ultimate Sack Bag Chairs, their bags weigh anywhere from 60 to over a 100 pounds! I pulled the trigger on the Ultimate Lounger Model, it’s more of an oval since I didn’t have the space for the more traditional round model. It came in a large box (Turnaround time was kind of slow at almost 2 weeks) and was compressed, similar to mail order mattresses. Once you remove it from the box, you kind of beat it up a little to break up the foam blocks and disperse the bag. Once you throw on the soft suede like cover, you’re in business.

The zippers are pretty beefy, and since the cover slip is generously sized, there’s not really any fear of it coming unstitched when you’re laying on it. And speaking of laying on it…it’s very comfortable. So much in fact that I’ve been sleeping on it at night over my bed. I really like the nestled in feeling, kind of like being a giant man-child baby back in the womb again. My feet and head are elevated and the sides sort of squeeze me, and it’s actually quite supportive. You may need a pillow when watching movies to prop your head up on. 

Overall I’m very pleased with the Ultimate Sack Ultimate Lounger Bag Chair, I’ve had it a few months and the foam is still very much as it was the day I got it. They have sales pretty often, as the retail price can be steep (However you can get 15% off clicking any of the links in this post) and without any real guarantee you’re kind of stuck with it unless you want to pay $70 bucks or so to ship it back. All in all though, I think it’s great.

Fast Forward 4 Years…
 
After having 4 successful Kickstarter campaigns, the Buffalo Leather Satchel, The Classic Weekender Duffel, the Sitka Leather Messenger, and the most recent Yukon Garment Bag,  they have come full circle on offering a wide variety of travel bags , briefcases (similar to the satchel and the messenger), as well as some smaller, everyday carry items like journals and wallets.
 

Construction

The Pilot Bag is made from a thick top grain buffalo leather and a high grade thread. Premium brass hardware and YKK zippers are used in the bag.

The bag is available in 2 leather finishes: antique brown and dark walnut (pictured). The dimensions of the bag are 5 “deep x 18″ length x 14″ height. The bag has 2 zippered exterior pockets and 2 pouch pockets with a magnetic snap closure. Behind the flap that covers the pouch pockets there is a pocket that has a velcro tab to keep it closed.

There are 2 zippered main compartments with a laptop pocket and dividers. There are also interior side slots for cards, a device pocket and 2 pen holders.

The interior of the bag is lined with a dark brown fabric liner. On the sides of the bag is a strap and buckle system to cinch in the bag.

The removable strap is a combined use of quality nylon and leather. In addition to the removable strap there are two regular top handles with a 2 snap closure.

Function

This bag can easily serve as your carry all office and travel companion to hold a laptop, cords, accessories, books, folders, clothes, and even camera gear. The outside pockets and flaps make ideal spots for wallets, passports, keys, passes, newspapers and other small gear to place in while traveling. Heck, having a newborn son, I would even consider it as a very convenient and classy baby bag that could make many other dads envious.  

Aesthetic

The buffalo leather used for this bag is soft and lightweight and has a very stunning antique distressed finish. The zippers, as stated above, are of high quality making it easy to zip and open when full. Although some many prefer more buckled hardware as opposed to the magnetic snap closures on the front pocket, I appreciate the convenience of getting in and out of the pockets quickly. I’m not a huge fan of the velcro tab in the front pocket but understand why it was put there. I see the velcro wearing out in time but it is a very small detail that does not bother me in the grand beauty and construction of the bag. 

The bag overall has a great feel to it when carried with the snapped handle or the shoulder strap. The weight is evenly distributed and as mentioned before, is not super heavy like a lot of leather bags on the market. I feel confident in saying that my shoulder and back will not suffer if carrying this bag for a longer period of time (unless of course you have very heavy cargo).

Conclusion

Let’s be real- most leather briefcases come with a hefty price tag. Understandably so given the materials and labor that goes into making them. What I am very impressed with about this pilots bag and all of Kodiak Leather Co. products is a very fair price that does not, in my opinion, sacrifice the quality or integrity of the product. White’s Boots MP Service Boot Review – $579.95

Up until recently, I wasn’t aware of White’s Boots. As someone who handles and reviews leather products on a regular basis, I was frankly embarrassed I somehow glossed over them. It wasn’t until a collaboration project between White’s and Triple Aught Design that I discovered a boot company that quite possibly makes the finest boots available. After some heavy research, I needed to see what the company was made of. Enter White’s Boots MP Service Boot.

About

White’s Boots has been around a long time, they actually predate the Civil War. Originally started by a father son team, White’s specialized in logging boots. Originating in West Virginia and finally settling in Spokane Washington, the company has been constantly producing high quality boots since 1853.

Construction 

This boot is made almost entirely by hand. From the sewing to the welt, a skilled craftsman built these piece by piece. The leather is sourced from the famous Horween leather tannery. The Chromexcel is a you guessed it, chrome tanned leather. I definitely prefer chrome tanning as I feel it handles the elements a little better than vegetable tanning. This is a 6” boot, and while the model reviewed is the brown version, White’s produces this in a handful of other finishes and colors. The soles are Dainite lugged and the boot features a toe cap. 

 Function 

For me, the largest roadblock with new boots is the break in process. Chances are if it’s a high quality boot (i.e Red Wing, Wolverine 1,000 Mile, etc) you’re going to have some discomfort initially. Yes, the MP Service Boots are no exception. Thankfully the leather is very supple and forgiving, so they mold to your feet a little quicker.

If you’re having trouble deciding what size you are, White’s has a brilliant foot sizing system in place. They will mail you a template, simply trace your foot wearing your boot socks and take a few quick measurements with the provided tape and mail it back. White’s will then recommend you a size, or if you’re a mutant – they can make a boot to fit you!

The Dainite Sole was new to me, usually I have Vibram soles. The Dainite is a softer sole with a large lug pattern. I definitely think they’re more comfortable and offer a sleeker profile than the half lug Vibrams, however if you’re the type who is off the trail, you’d probably want to consider these soles a little more closely.  Paired with a thick wool sock, these boots work nicely in moderately colder climates, the gusseted tongue keeps out excess moisture and debris.

The fact that I can resole these later on is an added bonus. Arch support is great, and I found prolonged periods of standing to be unexpectedly tolerable. Think of these boots as an around town footwear option that can handle the occasional contingency.  

Aesthetic 

I would argue that you’d be hard pressed to find a better looking boot that can handle a multitude of scenarios with as much adaptability that the MP Service Boots offer. Jeans, Chinos, etc – You’ll be solid. Horween leather is superb and I suspect these boots will take on a brilliant patina with time.

  The waxed laces mesh well with the boot and definitely hold a knot better than traditional leather laces, although I would have liked to have seen metal aglets on the end that matched the lace keepers. The problem with White’s Boots – they make practically every other boot look flimsy and cheap. Now that I’ve experienced true American craftsmanship, I can’t simply pick up a pair of boots at DSW. 

Conclusion 

There is no question these are one of, if not the finest boots you can buy. The only real question remaining is if you can justify the cost. For the work boots made by Whites, I’d say it’s  no brainer. For a casual/lifestyle boot, it begs serious consideration. Just be careful, because once you try a pair on and handle them, almost everything else will feel subpar. White’s Boots MP Service Boot looks just about perfect, and once you get past the first few painful of weeks of breaking them in, you’ll have companions for life.

Buffalo Jackson Jefferson Leather Duffle Review – $549.95

I’ve never really been a luggage guy. A stiff nylon box with wheels attached to it, no thanks. You obviously can’t deny the convenience of a roller, but sometimes you just have to do things differently. When it comes to a weekend jaunt or an overnight business trip, duffles reign supreme. Finding that precarious balance of style, function and build can be tricky. I think I found a solid candidate however, Buffalo Jackson’s Jefferson Leather Duffle. 

Construction 

The Jefferson Duffle is made up of full grain leather, the wax finish and vegetable tanning process provide for a “pull up” effect which is the way the leather seems to darken or lighten when handled. The interior features a largely cotton lined interior in a herringbone pattern. We see YKK solid brass zippers as hardware. Along with the double grab handles, the Jefferson also has D rings which you can attach the included shoulder strap for handling heavier loads hands free.

 Function 

There’s a scene in the classic romcom,  Joe vs. The Volcano where Joe visits a high end luggage boutique and a very passionate, somewhat eccentric salesman excitedly expounds on the features of a certain steamer trunk. I could totally see this duffle in that shop. The Jefferson has just about everything you need, and not much else you don’t. My favorite feature is hands down the shoe compartment. Segregating shoes or dirty laundry is crucial for me and not having to carry a plastic bag is nice. There’s plenty of space, bordering on too much – if you were to pack this bag it would not only be heavy (The bag weighs a few pounds empty) but somewhat cumbersome. I would really have liked a small slotted pocket on the exterior for quick stashing of small essentials like phones, wallets or keys. This bag shines as a weekend get away bag or as a classy gym bag.

Aesthetic 

The classic design of the Jefferson seems to handle any scenario with finesse. I could totally see a hot shot business exec toting one into the country club locker room, yet could also see a blue collar guy throwing it in the pickup for a weekend camping trip. One of the absolute best things about leather is the fact it will look better with use, it will develop character and you’ll come to treasure it. So don’t be careful, throw it around and use it! The thick full grain offers a very appealing presence, this bag is like a puppy..people will comment on it..to a fault. 

Conclusion 

Buffalo Jackson’s Jefferson Leather Duffle does a great job of blending modern features with old world craftsmanship. The hefty price tag is definitely a hold up. You can get something just as durable in a non leather material for a fifth of the price, but you’d be hard pressed getting this aesthetic. The shoe compartment is a major selling point but the heavy weight of the bag is something to consider. All things considered, it’s a high quality bag that will not only perform, it will do it looking stylishly. As the great Deion Sanders put it, “If you look good, you feel good. If you feel good, you play good. If you play good, they pay good.”

Loctote Flak Sack II Anti Theft Backpack Review – $129.00

It all started last week. My wife and daughter were at the community pool, it was a blistering 90 plus outside and the place was packed. We grabbed a patch of grass by the fences, about 30 feet from the water. We had brought our phones and wallets with us and obviously couldn’t take them in the water, so we took turns swimming with our daughter. It was ridiculous. It was after that ordeal that I started looking for a secure option to store our personal belongings when out and about. That’s how I found out about the Loctote Flak Sack II Anti Theft Backpack.

Construction

The Flak Sack is built like a traditional drawstring pack with some very interesting features. The fabric is made from Loctote’s proprietary Flaknit, a highly slash and abrasion resistant material. Loctote states this bag scored an impressive A9 cut level. I believe this is an actual ANSI based guideline, so this rates up there for safety equipment used in industrial applications where contact with dangerously sharp materials is performed frequently. The drawstrings are also made of slash resistant textiles. The bag has a large open compartment with a smaller RFID blocking fleece lined interior. We also see a steel reinforced locking strap to keep prying hands out.

The bag weighs about 2lbs empty (including lock) and measures in at 18”x14”

Function 

The Flak Sack II functions much like your standard drawstring bag. The material is a little rigid and less pliable than nylon, which is kind of expected given the security features. The main compartment makes stowing gear pretty easy, but this bag will fill up quick, and you can’t stuff it to the brim. I found out the hard way because you can’t cinch it completely shut and get the lock on if it’s packed. So definitely try to keep the bag about 75% loaded at most. 

The drawstrings are also slash resistant. I think it would have been great if they had steel cable running through them to add even more reinforcement. There’s video of guys making multiple attempts at slashing them though with little success though, but you’d have to be at it awhile and cause a scene to get this bag open. The locking function is pretty easy once you see it done on video. Once secured the bag is cinched so tight you can’t even get a finger inside the bag.

The major selling point for me is the ability to lock it to stationary objects like posts or fences. I wish I had this bag in college. You could leave your expensive electronics locked to your bedpost! The RFID blocking feature is a nice bonus, although I pity whomever wasted their time trying to get into my laughable finances in the first place.

Aesthetic

Drawstring bags aren’t typically great looking, usually towing the line between teenager at soccer practice and gym bro man bag. However Loctote did a nice job “adulting” it up a bit. The material is inherently thicker, so the bag has a more quality look and feel to it. The leather accents really do a great job at adding a subtle flair to the bag. It comes in a few other colorways like heather and digital camo if you want something a little more conspicuous. 

Conclusion

I want to point out that no anti theft device is fail proof. However, Loctote’s Flak Sack II definitely adds peace of mind when storing your goods. The fact that the Flak Knit material is so resistant to cuts and punctures just adds to the “It” factor. I like the fact that I’m wearing a bag that could quite literally double as a shield against edged weapons. I wish it was a little bigger and cost a little less, but that’s the price of innovation. All in all, it’s definitely worth a look if you travel with a lot of expensive goodies and find yourself away from your pack at times.

Kodiak Leather 30L Weekender Duffel Review – $340

As a baby we require a diaper bag. As a boy, we need a backpack. As a man, we need a quality leather duffel. A leather duffel for travel is a must have for someone who looks for quality and statement pieces. Although high quality handmade leather bags tend to be on the pricey side, their quality should last a lifetime and even be able to be passed down to the next generation.

Kodiak Leather 30L Weekender Duffel is an exceptionally gorgeous bag, with all the pockets and room one needs for a weekend+ trip. And, in my opinion, is very affordable given the style, leather, design and overall quality. I was very excited to add this piece to my leather collection as my first leather duffel bag. I am now a man.

The bag has 2 zippered exterior pockets measuring 6″x7″. There is also interior side slots for cards, a device pocket and 2 pen holders The interior of the bag is lined with a dark brown fabric liner with an interior zippered pocket measuring 6″ x 9″ as well as side card, device and pen holders. The removable strap is a combined use of quality nylon and leather. In addition to the removable strap there are two regular top handles with a 2 snap closure.

Function

This is a great functioning bag for a weekend or even a longer pack. The zippers are  heavy duty and I can tell they will hold up over time and use. For me, it is just a perfect sized bag fitting plenty of clothes, books, travel gear and even a couple pairs of shoes if needed. I tend to pack minimally so this bag could suit a week’s travel trip for me. If you are one that needs more space, there is also a new kickstarter page for a 45L duffel  as well as a 60L duffel available with more pockets and features as well. The pockets are not that deep which for me is perfect as I won’t feel the need to stuff them and have a hard time finding a specific item. But if you are looking for a wider or deeper pocket, then you may consider the larger option. The side pockets to me are suitable for a wallet, regular sized smart phone, keys, passport and a small notebook or charger even. The inside pocket falls into the same category- not quite wide or deep enough for a toiletry bag or book but enough room for small accessories, change, keys, etc..

Aesthetic

As mentioned above, the color and look of this leather is just gorgeous with a more distressed look with plenty of cracks and contrast in the leather. I personally love this look as it looks already as if is an heirloom item and will continue to get that rugged look over time. I also like the fact that the bag is lined with a nice nylon fabric to protect any clothing. Lastly, although a small detail, I really like the fact that their are brass raisers on the bottom of the bag to somewhat keep the bag from resting or dragging on the ground. Most may not see the benefits of these, but I feel it’s a nice detail if not just a style touch.

Conclusion

There are so many options for leather weekender duffels on the market and they range in price based on the intricate work and, or course, high quality leather used. I feel this bag lays somewhere right above the middle ground with the top grain leather, lightweight yet very stylish and functional. And at a reasonable price. Olpr. Leather Goods Co. is a small family business, started in Ukraine. All of the items are made to order, but they also have a showroom in the workshop where the customers can come and choose something from stock.

Construction

All of the leathers used are the full-grain cowhides sourced from Horween tannery. High grade thread comes in several different colors ranging from the classic white, brown and black to more fun colors like orange, blue, green. The buckle is stainless steel. The bands are available in various widths and lengths. They also carry bands tailored to fit apple watches.

Aesthetic

I absolutely love the fact that not only are these watches made from high quality leather, but you can customize them to fit your skin, wardrobe, or just overall style. I personally wear a lot of blues and light colors so chose a sky blue thread color that compliments the natural Horween brown and has a gorgeous pull up effect. I can’t wait to see what this leather looks like through age. The buckle is very basic and lightweight which is one thing to keep in mind. I actually prefer this. I own some watch bands with a very clunky and heavy hardware and although that is a statement, it is nice to have a buckle with a low profile to put the attention on the leather band and, of course, the watch.

Conclusion

At $49 for a Horween leather customizable watch band like this, I truly believe it is a great value. Other customizable bands I have come across can easily go for $100 and over. The leather is gorgeous with some natural marks and scars from the hide and the thread colors are fun to mix and match. I am already contemplating another color combination! Check them out -Here-.

Redwing Heritage Beckman Round Boots Style No. 9016 Review – $349.99

Boots are definitely the quintessential footwear choice for men, in my opinion. Delving into the world of boots can be daunting though, especially for the first time shopper. Hiking, work, casual and the list goes on. I think I may have found the best option that can handle a little of all of it without necessitating several purchases. The Redwing Heritage Beckman Round 9016 seems to be at home on the job site as well as the office.

Construction

There doesn’t seem to be any vulnerable spots on this boot, everything is double or triple stitched.

The Beckman’s are available in several finishes, reviewed are the 9016 – in Redwing’s signature Cigar Featherstone Leather. This is a very smooth, somewhat glossy leather. The full grain hide is thick yet supple, much more so than the Iron Rangers I have. A Roccia styled sole is attached to the bottom and features a lugged design. As with most all Redwings, they feature a Goodyear Welt which of course means this boot can be resoled. The laces are waxed cotton and we see metal eyelets adding reinforcement along the gusseted tongue.  All of this goodness is made in the USA.

Function

Expect some stiffness at the outset. You can always throw in some foam insoles, but this will ultimately hinder the leather sole from molding to your fit.

You’ll hear this from Redwing owners time and time again. There boots need to be broken in, the case was almost painfully obvious for me out of the box. If this is your first pair, I strongly suggest you get a proper fitting at a Redwing store or take a measurement using a Brannock device. They should fit somewhat snug, so they can stretch with use. I will say that these were almost impossible to get on without a shoe horn, it was snug to a fault and I think the gusseted tongue should have had more play in it. These boots are like baseball gloves, the more you wear them in, the better they perform. The lugged outsoles perform well and offer a tactile connection with most surfaces. The gusseted tongue keeps out rain and debris as well.

Do yourself a favor and order a shoehorn when getting these boots. You’ll thank me later.

Aesthetic

The Beckman’s are a bit more on the dressy side mostly due to the polished finish. That being said, the simple yet classic look seems at ease anywhere. The honeyed brown hues seem to mesh with almost any pant without overpowering your outfit. The quality exhibited (3 different workers have to approve every shoe before it’s shipped) in these shoes just seem to make them pop.  Even my wife who seems to routinely walk up to the wrong car in the parking lot with her keys, noticed these boots. That speaks volumes.

Conclusion

The Redwing Heritage Beckman Round is a classic boot with top notch American made craftsmanship and pride. The 349.99 price definitely requires some consideration, although you can shop around and find them cheaper, plus the ability to resole will probably make them more cost effective over time than more disposable footwear. Despite the initial hangups in the breaking in process, these boots will only grow better with use.

Triple Aught Design Axiom 24 Pack Review – $325.00

Growing up, all I needed was my leather bottom Jansport. It served me well on the playground and through middle school. As I made the rough, aberrant transition into adulting I found out my trusty pack wouldn’t cut it. Soon I found myself with a briefcase, an overnight duffle, a gym bag, etc. It was  a real nuisance swapping bags all the time, and it was then that I started my search for one bag to rule them all. In this review we’ll check out TAD’s Axiom 24 Pack and see if it can handle being a one bag…bag.

Construction

Probably the first thing you’ll notice when handling the Axiom is the textile material composing the shell. VX-21 Ripstop is comprised of 4 layers including a C6 DWR 210D Nylon face, Polyester X-PLY, 0.25 mil PET film and 50D Poly Taffeta backing for abrasion resistance. Most of us are likely used to rough, heavy 1000D cordura, so it might seem like a sensory shock at first. Opening the bag is a little reminiscent of a bag of Lays Sour Cream and Onion at times but not overly noisy. The water resistance of this material is far more impervious to water than traditional ripstop, and much lighter.

The pack has a mesh back made of closed cell, cross linked polyethylene foam. We see Hypalon Synthetic Rubber across the top, enhancing water resistance even more so. Capacity is rated at  24 liters (1465 cu in) and the pack measures 12” (30.48 cm) W x 19.75” (50.165 cm) H x 7” (17.78 cm) D – Weight is about 37 ounces comparable to a male adult Chinchilla (Short tailed)

 Function

The admin pocket is very adept at consolidating all your small essentials into one manageable space.

The team at Triple Aught Design created several Axiom’s, and they took in customer feedback off previous renditions to really fine tune this pack, and it shows. If you’re familiar with their signature Fast Pack bags, but were leery of the tactical vibe, then the Axiom would be better suited for you. This bag has a streamlined, clean and uncluttered design. I found the top shallow pocket perfect for sunglasses or keys, although I would have liked to have had it lined with microfiber for electronics. TAD also included an ingenious side water bottle pocket that is completely gusseted to the inside of the pack. I was able to fit in my 40 oz Kleen Kanteen inside the pocket, which was a first as no other bag’s pouches were large enough.

The bag features a smaller organizational pocket which has lots of slots and zippered pouches for small items you want contained. There’s also an inversed compartment on the bottom of the bag, this is probably best for storing a rank gym shirt, Ke$sha CD or anything else you want out of sight. The main compartment has attachment points for MOLLE type accessories as well. I really appreciate the generous padding on the shoulders and back, both of which are very breathable.  Just keep in mind, all those streamlined pockets come at a cost. Anything you stuff into the side compartments or the inverted pocket, will directly eat up space in your main compartment.

Did I say the side pockets were handy? Because they most certainly are.

Aesthetic

I had a hands on review with TAD’s Fastpack, and while it was a versatile bag, I often felt it was a little too  tactical at times. TAD has managed to successfully replicate a lot of the features we see in that pack, but in a much easier to swallow pill. The Axiom has a very sleek look. Whereas the Fastpack was engineered, the Axiom was orchestrated. It’s like an adult bag for the guy who has a lot of toys. The coyote brown is a neutral color that goes with almost anything, it will also show wear more too, so something to consider when purchasing.

Aside from the watch, everything in this picture was made in the USA. I definitely try to buy quality American made goods when I can, and they really hold their own.

Conclusion

Triple Aught Design’s Axiom 24 is a well thought out, superbly constructed bag. It exhibits top notch, highly technical materials in its DNA. The price is definitely in the upper echelons as far as quality bags go, so you’ll have to decide if the price warrants the use. The Axiom is a very solid everyday bag that has the capacity and organization to get you through your day, day in and day out.

William Ross Travel Bag Review – $319

Hand-crafted for those who live a life on-the-go, the William Ross Travel Bag is designed with a sleek, authentic look that demands attention. Outfitted with full grain leather and durable, weather-resistant canvas, this was something I couldn’t wait to get my hands on. After a few days of using the olive green with tobacco leather model, I am sold.

Delivered with a hand-signed note from, Julene Etzenbach, Founder and CEO of William Ross Travel Bags, I quickly developed a deeper appreciation for the company and bag. Julene launched the company after needing a bag that was travel-friendly, functional, and efficient - meaning, not only was it lightweight, but it could easily fit daily must-have necessities. Needless to say, the Travel Bag was born.

Construction & Function

Made from twill woven wax canvas, one of the first things that caught my eye was the texture of the material. Outfitted to withstand the elements, I had the unfortunate pleasure of getting caught in some Pacific Northwest rain while using this bag. Inside was my laptop, charger, and mouse, which all remained dry as a bone. For users who are new to wax canvas material, William Ross also includes a note regarding its properties and attention for care.

All my daily necessities and still some extra room. 

It’s clear that Julene had travelers in mind when designing this bag. As someone who is constantly switching between my keys, phone, wallet, or headphones, I was instantly attracted to the functionality of this bag. After adjusting the thick, yet malleable, leather shoulder strap to my desired length, I was welcomed by a side pocket that was positioned on the outside of the bag. Being right-handed, I love how user-friendly the side pocket is. I can quickly open and unzip the 9-inch pocket with ease. The last thing anyone wants to do is use two hands to open one pocket while walking. 

Yes, everything is still in there. 

Another unique quality of this side pocket is the design of the flap. Traditionally, buckles or latches accompany messenger bags. While they prove to be secure and look nice at face value, they aren’t always as functional as we need them to be. Instead, this bag features a pin-closure leather flap, positioned on the front pocket, which can effortlessly be released with no more than your thumb and index finger. This has to be the most undervalued asset of the Travel Bag.

Inside the bag is more room than I’ll probably ever use, but, I’m a person who lives by the principle, “It’s better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.” While I do wish there was more organization to the vast open space, I see this as an opportunity for future outings.

One of my favorite aspects of its interior design is the sleek laptop sleeve. While my Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is a bit smaller than other models, the bag’s pocket can fit laptops up to 12-inches. Even the pocket’s placement is on-par with my ideal setup. Located on the inside of the front panel, I never felt my laptop hit my hip while walking, which is usually the case with most messenger bags.

Here's what was inside the main pocket. 

On the back side of the bag are two smaller pockets. Located closest to your body’s hip, their placement does make it a bit awkward when you’re trying to access items on-the-go. Nevertheless, these make for great ‘hidden’ pockets since spectators can’t see them at first glance. Because of this, the two 7-inch pockets are great for small valuables such as credit cards, cash, or passports.  

Aesthetic

Complemented by the water-resistant canvas, full grain leather pieces blend beautifully with the bag to deliver an eye-popping presence. I was personally drawn to this model because of its weathered look and tan appearance. Many travel bags seem to complement a niche demographic, whereas this one is designed for everyone.

Beautiful bag from top to bottom. 

From a top-down perspective, the bag is even sleeker when you see it from the front. It is comfortable and didn’t slide off my shoulder while out and about - even while walking at a quick pace. The main pocket features two brass zippers, which is perfect for those moments when you want to zip both to one side or meet in the middle.

These pockets are perfect for valuables. 

The other notable feature is its thick leather handle located on top of the bag. Constructed to fit a variety of hand sizes, it’s one more piece of leather that adds to its overall beauty. The leather-to-canvas ratio is flawless and the entire bag flows, stitch to stitch.   

Conclusion

All in all, the William Ross Travel Bag is an investment. It’s not a bag that you pick up at your local retailer and end up tearing in a year or two. The price tag may seem high, but it’s competitively priced to be the last travel bag you buy. It sets the standard and nearly puts the bag in a class of its own.
