The Real Leather Company Executive Briefcase Review

In the world of leather, I would argue the briefcase holds the title of most coveted. Whether it’s a rugged carry all for globe trotting the world, or a sleek briefcase to handle high stakes business, people admire and respect a quality bag. In today’s article we are going to take a look at a highly polished offering with The Real Leather Company’s Executive Briefcase

Construction

The Executive is a larger bag, measuring in at 16″ W x 12″ H x 3.5″ and weighing about 3.5 pounds empty. We see a fairly hefty 8oz full grain water buffalo leather. I will admit, this is my first experience with water buffalo leather and I’m impressed. Due to its naturally thicker composition and fibers, the leather is much more durable than cowhide. Stitching along the bag is clean and tidy, and reinforced in critical stress areas.

Brass alloy buckles are used for the carry on strap as well as the handles. The interior is lined with an impressive waterproof nylon lined interior. I would have liked to have seen studs on the bottom of the bag to help mitigate wear from setting it down on rough surfaces. The bag overall has a very substantial feel to it.

Function

The Real Leather Company did a great job in hitting that zen balance when it comes to carry capacity and size. I detest a large bag that bumps and careens off bodies in crowded places, but I also like to pack everything but the kitchen sink when I go out. The Executive seems to have a cavernous appetite for my belongings while still being compact enough to deftly navigate around town.

The standard organizer layout handles all of your essentials as well as securely stowing away a 16” laptop. The small exterior slotted pocket is great for smartphones or other items that need quick access.

Aesthetic

A great leather bag speaks volumes and is noticed everywhere. The Executive certainly lives up to its namesake. The sumptuous leather exudes a professional vibe. This is definitely a working bag, and I feel it somewhat limited in extra curricular capacity as it’s a bit too formal. The flow of this bag is impressive and it looks great at any angle.

Conclusion

There are a tremendous amount of options when selecting a bag. I feel The Real Leather Company Executive Briefcase hits all the high marks of a heirloom quality bag. The close attention to detail and deep consideration for build materials ensure years of practical use. The price point is ball park for bags of similar quality and I would suggest a consideration when in the market for a professional oriented carry option.
