Construction
The Reeves Jacket is made from 100% lambskin leather. As opposed to cowhide, lambskin has a much softer, more broken in feel to it. A polyester liner is found on the interior of the jacket and provides a smooth surface for sliding over a dress shirt and feels comfortable on the skin as well.
The jacket has very smooth stitching and has a great quality “heft” to it. The cut of the leather seems substantial and I noticed no dye marks or discolorations.
Function
I really appreciate the comfort level the jacket offers. Thanks to the supple lambskin leather, it feels like I’ve had it for years and drapes over my frame fairly well. I wish the interior pocket was just a little larger to accommodate larger phones, but it does hold my Galaxy fairly securely.
Pockets on leather coats are more for looks in my experience anyways. This jacket does a great job blocking out the wind and when paired with a wool baselayer, holds its own in colder climates.
